It's Two Mints In One
What do you call a tool that warns you when your registry is about to be changed? It's
not a virus checker though it claims to be able to warn you when viruses are trying to
change your registry without your permission.
Grr! is an interesting little tool which loads
quickly and hides quietly in the background. When you attempt to load a new piece of
software which needs to access and alter the registry, Grr! pops up and warns you which
files are under attack and how they are about to be altered. You can then elect to either
allow or disallow the request. Nice control.
If you have ever wondered what Setup and Install programs are really doing behind the
scenes, wonder no more. Grr! will show you what file changes are about to be made before
they occur, and give you the power to accept or deny them.
We downloaded the trial version and then purchased it because the ticket was so cheap
($24.95). Another four star product. It's nice to see developers coming out with truly
innovative and useful products as opposed to another "me too" type of tool.
