Over the years I have used and evaluated many different forms of log and
web traffic analyzers. For a long time I was enamored by HitBox, but once they
changed their GUI, architecture and billing, I longed for another solution.
I've reviewed a great many such tools, and while I have found a few I do
like, ClickTracks
brings a whole new perspective to log and web traffic analysis. Like other
tools in its class, ClickTracks
does provide a wealth of standard reports. What makes it different is the
way it presents those results in a highly graphical presentation.

After importing your web log, ClickTracks
displays your data and your web site side by side. It tags users and
segregates them into separate groups allowing you to see how these groups
behave: what pages do they visit, how long do they stay, and how deep do they
go?
How can this help you? Here's an example. On my site, EbookoMatic,
I have a sales pitch page and an offer to download a free handbook which
further explains the features of my service.
Using ClickTracks
I can now see what percent of visitors click on the button to download the
free handbook. Now I can tweak my sales pitch, pull my stats in a week, and
compare to see if the changes in my text increase the percentage of handbook
downloads. I call that very powerful and useful.
If you like you can even create and define your own tags, so
the power of this tool can be extended to just about any form of analysis
desired. About the only thing missing from this tool is the ability to run it
as a service on an NT server, or to schedule automated downloading of log
files.
This level of analysis and data presentation comes at some
cost -- $495.00 -- but that's about the cost of most products in this class. I
do believe, however, that you get tremendous added value with this graphical
presentation of your web traffic. For more information, please click here.
