The coolest tools
are those that save me time, and in so doing, save me money, because like the
old adage says, "Time is money." As a product reviewer, I have a
constant need to grab screenshots. There are many different tools out there to
choose from. They vary in price and features.
Super
Screen Capture from Zeallsoft is the newest entry in the screen
capture category, and it has all of the best features bundled into
one tool. It's also considerably cheaper than its competitors. I like this one,
boys.
Like a lot of
other screen capture tools, Super
Screen Capture enables you to capture either the entire window or a
portion of it. Unlike most of the other tools out there, with Super
Screen Capture you can create your own shapes or use the preset square
and round settings for fast grabs of small sections of a screen.
One feature not
usually found in screen capture tools is the ability to scroll the active screen
and grab the whole thing. This is PERFECT for grabbing screen shots of
entire web pages. Frequently is the case where you want to show a picture of an
entire web page and not just what appears in the browser window. This feature is
much easier to use that some of the leading screen capture tools. I liked it a
lot.
You can also
record either video or audio to create multimedia tutorials on-the-fly. These,
too, are push button easy to use. It's surprising. I've seen some very
popular and very expensive packages make these features very
confusing to use. Super
Screen Capture is simple to use, no matter what your skill level.
The Professional
Version of Super
Screen Capture also comes with an Image Editing Tool set. With this
collection of tools you can do virtually anything with your screen images
without having to open up Photoshop. You can rotate, flip, and mirror images
with a click. You can crop and move. You can even invert colors or adjust
individual color settings.
One of my favorite
features in this toolset is the ability to crop your image with the border
