Box
Shot 3D is a worthy addition to your ebook cover design toolboxs.
While many similar tools may be used to create 3D ebook covers, DVD cases
and software boxes, Box
Shot 3D has some very unique features including the ability to
render high-quality, print-ready images at very high resolution. In
addition, you can create some 3D images that are totally unique to this tool
including a very realistic stack of hard cover or soft cover books as
pictured below.

Box
Shot 3D requires you to have your front cover and spine images already
designed. You can use virtually any popular graphics package to do this. I
used PhotoShop for the above example and saved the separate images as hi-res
JPG files. You simply select the type of 3D rendered image you want to create
from the drop-down menu, and then import the required components (front, top,
side images) to begin building the finished product. Because Box
Shot 3D uses ray-tracing, you can see a low-res rendering of your 3D
image in real-time.
Once previewed, you can adjust your design using several
different controls including lighting, shadowing, and distance. Drop-down
menus and sliders allow you to experiment quickly to get the look you desire.
If you prefer, you can also change the image perspective by using your cursor
to turn the image in real-time. Zoom in/out, move it, etc. Background images
may also be inserted to blend with your web page or printed materials.
You can use Box
Shot 3D to create many different types of unique 3D images including
tagged boxes (similar to the ones hanging on point of sale displays near the
cash register), CDs in envelopes, binders, opened books on the floor, 2-4
panel opened brochures, paper bags, bottles and even cans.
If you are a graphic designer, this tool should be a
requirement of your trade. It enables you to show your clients what their logo
and branding might look like on different types of packaging. If you are an
Internet marketer or author or developer, an investment in Box
Shot 3D will pay for itself in no time at all, empowering you to
create unlimited product images in minutes. To learn more about Box
