Every once in a while innovation arrives in the most unexpected places. Apocgraphy
may be one of the most important cool tools to arrive on the scene. Why? It
single-handedly eliminates SPAM email, hoax email, suspected virus email,
Nigerian scam email, and much, much more.
Once installed, Apocgraphy
determines your POP set-up. Then whenever you retrieve your email, Apocgraphy
works quietly in the background analyzing the email on your server before
allowing it to be downloaded. Then it lets your email client download the
email it deems OK, and places everything else into "Purgatory."
Apocgraphy
has a fairly extensive database which it draws upon when it analyzes your
incoming emails, and it is very accurate. When we tested it, it properly
identified 99% of the garbage that comes our way on a daily basis. It filtered
out porn, scams, viagra pitches, Nigerian letters, viruses and much, much
more.
It offers users the ability to add terms and phrases to its database to
expand and enhance its usefulness. As you review the messages in Purgatory,
you can "release" those that are OK and from trusted sources Apocgraphy
does not yet recognize.
The tool can be a little overwhelming in its options, and I suppose that's
why they offer a simple and expert mode. You can toggle between them without
have to reinstall as you become more used to its functions and interface.
Apocgraphy
also examines your outbound email. This presented me with a problem when I
wanted to execute some bulk email blasts using GroupMail. Apocgraphy
slowed down the email blast and eventually locked up GroupMail. So for
those of you who are Net marketers, my only recommendation would be to further
examine the tool's options or execute your email marketing campaigns on a
different computer.
All that said, Apocgraphy
is a very useful tool and will help to eliminate 99% of the garbage that fills
your email box everyday. It certainly is refreshing to get through your email
faster and be more responsive to customers. A side benefit of not having to
groom your email everytime you sit down to catch up . . . recommended. Click here
