This is something we felt compelled to write about because it excites us so. The age of
robots -- real, useful, humanoid robots -- is rapidly coming upon us. What I am about to
show you, I did not even think was possible yet.
Of all the manufacturers world-wide you could think of, Honda -- the king of the
low-cost consumer automobile -- appears to be the possible leader in the race for creating
humanoid robots. Their robotics division has been quietly at work since 1986, and you will
be amazed by their creation. Not only does it work, but it works well. They have
eliminated many of the design snafus except for handling long-term power requirements.
This, though, is simply a matter of time. Take, for instance, the rapid changes in
rechargeable laptop battery technology and you will see the answers are already well
within our grasp.
