I don't usually
review ebooks on the topic of seduction, but I stumbled upon this recently while
doing some research. I've been performing magic for 40+ years, and I was trying
to contact a magician who created a trick I wanted to purchase. But it seemed as
if Erik von Markovik had disappeared ...
Then I discovered
Erik had transformed himself into a man now known as "Mystery," and he
had stopped performing magic in favor of writing and teaching others about the
art of seduction through
The Mystery Method. Hmmm. This was getting interesting. What was the
connection?
Well, it seems
"Mystery" had been using what he learned about performing magic to
dazzle the ladies at the night clubs. And he was being VERY successful. I mean
VERY, VERY successful. Luck had nothing to do with it. Neither did his good
looks. This young man has stumbled upon something, studied and refined it for 12
years, and was now a certifiable expert in meeting people and seduction. It
should be noted that seduction does not necessarily need to be the final goal.
Simply becoming more comfortable meeting people and being accepted by others is
at the root of
The Mystery Method.
But it's not his
study of the art of seduction that intrigued me so much as the articles written
about him in a dozen major magazines. In reading the testimonials from his
students, it became obvious to me quite quickly that the techniques
"Mystery" is teaching men to meet women could easily be applied in
other venues including professional performers, company spokespeople, and sales
and business.
Let's face it:
everyone wants to be charming and the life of the party, but most of us are too
shy to say "hi" to the attractive woman standing beside us or to
introduce ourselves and shake hands with the gentlemen standing around us at a
business meeting. We want to do it. We're envious of others who do it so
naturally. Why can't we feel more comfortable meeting strangers and getting them
to genuinely be intrigued by us and like us?
The Mystery Method
is 200+ pages long. It is very well written. Almost
scientific in its approach. In fact, in some places, Mystery shows his
remarkable intelligence and understanding by discussing the psychological and
sociological aspects of meeting others and adds a pinch of neuro-linguistics,
too. This is heady stuff that requires thought and perseverance to read, digest
and apply to one's lifestyle.
Among the many
topics I enjoyed reading about were the ones on "Peacocking" and
"Group Dynamics." Mystery is usually seen wearing a top hat with
goggles. He stresses the importance of making yourself stand out in the crowd to
create an air of, well, mystery! And it works. This "peacocking"
enables you to strut your stuff and draw people to you. His study in group
dynamics shows you how to read and control the crowd you want to join. He
explains how to shift power and interest away from the group leader to yourself
and how to break the ice with a variety of different techniques.
Frankly, whether
you are a strolling magician who works corporate gigs who wants to become more
dynamic, or a person aching to break out of your shell so you can meet others
more easily,
The Mystery Method
can teach us all a good deal about ourselves, how others
see us, and how we want to be seen. To learn more about
