Getting ranked in
the search engines is critical to your online success. Search engines can
provide you with a consistent flow of traffic from interested prospects -- and
it's important to remember -- search engines provide this all for FREE.
For most people,
getting ranked is a challenge unless they invest heavily in professional search
engine optimization services, or worse yet, actually pay to be listed in the
search engines. You don't have to do that. In fact, you do not need to invest a
dime.
How? Well, this
web site is a perfect example of a well-ranked site. If you look at this site's
Alexa ranking in the upper right column of this page, you'll see that we sustain
an excellent ranking when you consider there are millions of web sites and web
pages. And if you check out product reviews, the majority rank in the top 5 for
any given product name on Google (and frequently on Yahoo and MSN among others).

success after mine. You can sustain high ranking web pages and web sites. It
simply takes an investment of time, and some trial and error. Eventually, you
will reap the rewards of your efforts.
But what about
search engine optimization services? These are costly and usually require a
long-term monetary commitment. Search engines change the way they rank sites all
the time. Unless you have money to spare -- and a lot of it -- this is not a
good road to go down.
What about search
engine submission tools and the wealth of ebooks that already exist? There are a
handful of affordable tools that you can buy and use to submit your web pages to
the major search engines. Some offer great value and work quite well. There are
also many ebooks written by those much more successful than I, so I take nothing
away from them ... however I have never used a search engine submission tool for
the Cool Tool Awards web site and I have used very little of the
techniques and theories I have read about in those ebooks I purchased.
